Client: Wisconsin Association for Perinatal Care

Empowering a PQC’s Efforts

The team at WAPC works hard to improve the care for birthing parents and babies – and now have a digital infrastructure that supports and enables them to scale.

The Challenge

The Wisconsin Association for Perinatal Care (WAPC) supports perinatal professionals through robust educational opportunities and quality improvement technical assistance from the Wisconsin Perinatal Quality Collaborative with support of the Perinatal Foundation. These three functional areas combine efforts to improve outcomes and reduce disparities in perinatal health through education, quality improvement, collaboration, and advocacy.

But with three websites full of content, multiple legacy systems and a variety of manual processes, it was difficult to provide a coherent story to their constituents – healthcare professionals, supporters, policymakers, and the public – and nearly impossible to scale up their work with their small staff.

The Solution

After an extensive Discovery, we constructed a plan for:

  • A content inventory to identify what information from each of their current sites should be kept, culled or updated. Needs for new marketing copy was also documented.
  • Determining an appropriate set of technology to address their functional needs: CRM, Marketing Automation, Donation Processing/Management, Event Management, Online Learning Management – and more. The technology chosen to address their current needs and be scalable for future included: Zoho One, a suite of interconnecting apps; LearnDash for LMS; Formstack for sophisticated data capture; and, Stripe to address online payment processing securely.
  • Workflow optimization and automation for end-to-end processes.
  • Assessing the data from their different sources and how to approach/align the data structures to successfully migrate data to new system.

Based on the plans, implementation happened:

  • Site content was created, edited and migrated to the new central site.
  • New technology stack was configured and implemented to accommodate the identified needs.
  • Business process and marketing automations constructed.
  • Course curriculum structures enabled.
  • Data was transformed and migrated to new CRM and related apps.

After extensive rounds of testing and knowledge transfer, the team at WAPC was ready move forward with their organizational goals to grow and scale their work to improve the outcomes for birthing parents and their babies.
